The Flor de Izote is originally from Mexico and Central America. El flor de Izote is a famous edible plant we use on our favorite cuisines such as eggs, pupusas, rice, etc. Not only does it feed us but it serves as a special resource as well; for example we use the roots to make soap. This flower has been harvested for centuries in my country and represents a piece of my culture. The painting is also an appropriation of Vincent Van Gough famous "Lilies" Acrylic on Canvas 18"x 24" 2019
