San Fernando Artist

I'm a Salvadoran-American artist born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. My parents, like scores of others, left their civil war torn country to migrate to the U.S. for opportunities. I’m blessed to have been raised by strong, independent, and smart parents who did not know a single word of English when they arrived. It is a privilege to pay tribute to their struggle and hard work through my paintings. My heritage, ingrained in me through years of summer visits to my family’s lush homeland, pushes me to move to the beat of our cumbias, share our cooking, celebrate our love, and remember our connection to the fields, rivers, and volcanic soil. My art represents the beauty of all that and more, and I hope it shows you the range of experiences that come from being a Salvadoran-America.
